Baker's site includes useful student-focused study booklets and other
learning materials (html only). Film Education:
Extensive free downloadable resources (pdfs) suitable for both primary
and secondary study, as well as for sale material. Film Education is a
registered charity. Film Studies:
A guide for AS/A level students. Provides study notes and an "ideas"
section for teachers. Material can be viewed/saved online or downloaded
as pdf files. The Media and Communication
Studies Site: Mentioned here not for worksheets or lesson plans but
simply because it is an essential site of which to be aware. Links to
a wide selection of online articles organised by topic, which will certainly
be informative to teachers. Some of these could certainly be introduced
to more inquiring students. MediaEd: Developed
by Media Education Wales, this site includes resources that can be freely
used in the classroom, including articles, case studies, and reviews.
Ages 5-11, 11-14, 14-16, 16-19 and adult. A student section includes articles
on media theory. Media Education
Centre, University of Southampton: Includes a small group of free
downloadable materials for teachers from the British Film Institute. It
also links to the resources provided by MediaEd. Mediaknowall:
Designed specifically for students following the Welsh Joint GCSE/AS/A
syllabi. Includes basic online notes and links. National Museum
of Photography, Film and Television: Includes extensive education
section covering all key stages, with online resources, study notes and
education packs. Much of the material relates to the exhibits in the museum's
galleries. Includes the STEM project which is intended to create a database
of educational resources created by and for students and teachers.
